The New Mexico Technology Council is proud to support TEDxABQ and the TEDxABQ team’s many many valuable efforts (we’re especially excited about collaboration between our Women in Technology group and TEDxABQWomen).
As you most likely know, TED stands for Technology, Entertainment & Design. All of these are strengths in New Mexico, but we don’t always tell that story as well as we could. There’s often the impression that Technology is something ‘they’ do, whether that they is at Sandia National Laboratories, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Intel or somewhere else. What the TEDx events remind us of – because they do them so well – is that ‘they’ is really ‘us’. That we’re part of a larger community. And that only by engaging with the larger community can we build the thriving regions that spark and grow business, retain and attract the best talent, and support the special quality of life that New Mexico is rightly known for.
