Nyika Allen is the President & CEO of the New Mexico Technology Council (NMTC) – the State’s only business association for the technology industry. She is passionate about technology, entrepreneurship, women’s issues and the economic health of New Mexico. Along with her position at the NMTC, she is the ‘Tech Expert’ on Fox New Mexico, Chair of the New Mexico Association of Commerce and Industry’s Entrepreneurship and Technology Committee, Chair of the TechHire NM business advisory council and a 2015 TEDxABQ main event speaker. She holds a BBA in International Management from the Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico and the UNM Honors Program. Nyika graduated magna cum laude with both university and scholastic achievement honors and a special international designation. Ms. Allen has both worked, studied and traveled to over 19 different countries. She currently serves as a board / advisory council member for multiple organizations such as: the Small Business Assistance Program (managed jointly by Sandia and Los Alamos National Laboratories), New Mexico EPSCoR, UNM Anderson Alumni Council, UNM Economic Development Forum, Albuquerque Economic Development, Kirtland Airforce Base Honorary Commander, the Mid-Region Council of Governments – Workforce Connections of Central NM and was recognized as an Albuquerque Business First 2016 Women of Influence honoree, a 40 Under 40 honoree and the most influential 40 under 40 for the class of 2016.
Nadine Buerger is the Investor Relations & Program Manager for the New Mexico Technology Council (NMTC). She was born and raised in Germany, where she studied hospitality management and linguistics. In 2011 she moved to the United States where she discovered her love for Non-Profits, Community Engagement and Economic Development.
Kevin Horst serves the New Mexico Technology Council (NMTC) as an Americorps VISTA Volunteer along with NM’s seven economic development districts. He is originally from Seattle, but arrived from Montreal, where he has been working under contract as a Business Analyst for the United Nations agency ICAO. His work history includes almost seven years at Microsoft, UNDSS in NYC, and many other. He spends his non-work time travelling the world, solving “weird” business problems, and living simply and gratefully.
Auri Vigil is the Marketing and Events Coordinator for the New Mexico Technology Council (NMTC). She brings high energy, a positive attitude and strong work ethic to the NMTC team. She’s well-versed in social media marketing, event coordination and public relations. With heavy experience in customer relations, small business communications and events, Auri is dedicated to providing NMTC members, sponsors and partners with unique event engagement and marketing opportunities. Most recently she has worked for Siarza Social Digital as their Development and Communication Coordinator. As a former Marketing Assistant at the University of New Mexico Student Union Building, Auri focused on social media content development and account management. Auri is an alumni member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). Auri currently serves as a board member for both the Albuquerque Press Club and Marketing Masters Toastmasters.
