The Rocky Mountain Venture Capital Association is prepping two events for Albuquerque entrepreneurs and investors during their annual meeting here next week. Here are the details:
VC’s Unplugged
VC’s Unplugged is a networking luncheon for entrepreneurs, service providers, angel investors and investors to have an opportunity to meet out of state venture capitalists and engage in informal conversations about funding opportunities within our region. The event will include a panel of seasoned venture capitalists, great networking and a buffet lunch.

Following the VC Panel, there will be a presentation provided by the New Mexico-Israel Business Exchange (NMIBE) and The Binational Industrial Research and Development (BIRD) Foundation. The NMIBE helps build relationships between companies in New Mexico and Israel and the BIRD Foundation provides grant opportunities for collaboration between American and Israeli companies. Speakers will include Kirk Otis, CEO of BIRD grant recipient Trilumina, who will describe his company’s experience as a two-time grant winner, and Michal Miasnik, West Coast Representative for the BIRD Foundation.
PITCH Unplugged
Get a front row seat to learn about innovative companies from across New Mexico through creative and fast-paced ‘Shark Tank’ style presentations. Listen in as a group of visiting VCs provides candid feedback to the CEOs. The evening also includes ample networking time to maximize opportunities to visit with seasoned venture capitalists, angel investors, entrepreneurs and key service providers.
