Get Resilient

In three sentences describe what your organization does, including the services/products you provide
Shimoshi NM conducts strategic foresight and training that informs confident strategies and pivots. We gather, process, and monitor proprietary data for organizations about their future operating environments and monitor signals of emerging and morphing conditions. In the process, teams gain scenario building skills and other creative practices that integrate agility during uncertainty.

What is your organization’s super power?
We break organizations out of cognitive inertia.

Why do you choose to do business in New Mexico?
New Mexico is an invigorating place to live while working for clients everywhere. But beyond personal preferences, New Mexico is especially ripe for progression by applying its array of valuable resources to swiftly evolving realities that present risks but also opportunities. Besides, the military understands Strategic Foresight advantages and methods, presenting exposure to its concepts among officers and civilian researchers here.

Why did you join NMTC and/or what do you hope to gain by being part of the membership?
I was approached by NMTC based on my generative and formative product development work in emerging tech in the Bay Area. I hope to absorb non-Silicon Valley perspectives of possible futures from NMTC’s smart and focused membership, especially among other women.

Please share one goal you have for your company within the next 12 months.
Beyond client work in government, NGO, and private sector organizations, our immediate goal is to introduce strategic foresight and speculative design at New Mexico schools and in Creative Industries and hire the staff to make that possible.
