Our team has assembled some of the top thinkers and practitioners in Cyber Security for our upcoming Summit on May 3rd.

Here are a few of their bios – more as the summit gets closer!

Bradford A. Bleier is a Supervisory Special Agent (SSA) for the Albuquerque FBI leading a squad with responsibility for all Cyber threats. He recently transferred to Albuquerque after spending a number of years at FBI Headquarters working National Security related Cyber matters where he helped found the National Cyber Investigative Joint Task Force, a multi-agency FBI led effort established to address complex and far reaching cyber threats. Agent Bleier has worked the full range of cyber investigations throughout his ten year FBI career.

Before the FBI, Mr. Bleier worked as a Naval Judge Advocate in the Northwest Pacific, followed by many years of private legal practice as a telecommunications and technology lawyer. He also founded and operated a small regional Internet Service Provider in the late nineties which he sold prior to joining the FBI.

Carlos Carrillo is a Manager for MANDIANT. In this role he serves as a information security consultant, instructor and maintains oversight of education and training services offered by MANDIANT. Mr. Carrillo has more than 20 years of technological industry and network security experience. He has led complex intrusion investigations involving several Fortune 500 companies and has instructed law enforcement officers on cyber crime investigations. In addition, Mr. Carrillo served as a communications officer in the USAF. While on active duty, he held several key positions including network intrusion officer with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, and Director of Operations, Headquarters Air Force Space Command, Network Operations and Security Center.

Jack Koziol, the lead author of The Shellcoder’s Handbook, is a Senior Instructor and Security Program Manager at InfoSec Institute, a provider of advanced ethical hacking training. He regularly is called upon to train members of the United States intelligence community, military, and federal law enforcement agencies. Additionally, Jack provides training for Fortune 500 companies, such as Microsoft, HP, and Citibank, on how to better secure their networks and applications. When not teaching hacking classes, Jack regularly performs penetration tests and application security assessments for a number of clients. He has years of private vulnerability development and exploitation experience for his customers and himself.

Jack is also the author of Intrusion Detection with Snort, one of the best-selling security books in its first year of publication (2003). The book has been translated into several languages, including French and Japanese, and has received rave reviews from Linux Journal, Slashdot, and Information Security magazine. Jack has appeared in USA Today, CNN, MSNBC, First Business, and other media outlets for his expert opinions on information security.

Dr. Greg Shannon is the chief scientist for the CERT® Program at Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute, a federally funded research and development center. In this role, he works with CERT management and staff to establish and enhance the program’s research visibility, initiatives, strategies, and policies. Outside of CERT, he works to influence national research agendas and promote the data-driven science of cyber security.

Prior to joining CERT, Shannon was the chief scientist at two startups (CounterStorm, and Science, Engineering and Technology Associates), where he worked on insider threats, the science of cyber security, and statistical anomaly detection. In earlier positions, Shannon led applied research and development efforts in cyber security and data analysis at Lucent Technologies, Lumeta, Ascend Communications, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Indiana
University, nbso online casino reviews and his own startup company. 

Shannon received a BS in Computer Science from Iowa State University with minors in Mathematics, Economics, and Statistics. He earned both his MS and PhD in Computer Sciences at Purdue University, on a fellowship from the Packard Foundation.

Jim Tokmenko is an Intelligence Officer from DHS I&A, State and Local Program Office, assigned to the New Mexico All Source Fusion Center (NMASIC) in Santa Fe. His previous experience included over 19 years experience with CBP, where he actively promoted intelligence sharing, counter-terrorism and counter-narcotics initiatives. He was also selected to be a founding member of CBP’s first Intelligence Coordination Team (ICT) in Tucson, AZ and has served as the Senior Field Analysis Specialist at the Tucson Field Office. He was worked overseas in Sri Lanka, Thailand and Taiwan with the Container Security Initiative. Before joining the federal government, he worked in the private sector as a Quality Control Manager and Metallurgical Engineer, as well as owning a consulting company. Mr. Tokmenko possesses an M.B.A. in International Business from the University of Akron, and a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from the Ohio State University.
