The NM Tech Council is part of a group that is putting together a New Mexico group for the Startup America partnership. Interested? Here’s a letter of introduction and how to get involved:
Dear Fellow New Mexican:
We are writing to invite you to join a group of entrepreneurs, business leaders, and organizations
dedicated to increasing the entrepreneurial ecosystem in New Mexico and invigorating the
economy. We are looking to “Startup New Mexico”!Driven from within the community, led by entrepreneurs themselves, Startup New Mexico
is not another economic development organization seeking funding. It is group like minded
individuals who recognize the importance of startups and other new high growth ventures to our
economy. We seek to identify “big ideas” that will really drive change, and provide a shared
platform for resources and activities that support local entrepreneurship. As a participant in Startup New Mexico you will have access to over $1 billion worth resources
that can be leveraged to lower cost and simplify your operation. Some highlights include:
- Expertise: Connect startups with training, mentors, advisors and accelerators
- Services: Provide startups with access to critical services at reduced costs
- Talent: Assist startups in recruiting, training and retaining the people that can help them grow
- Customers: Help startups through acquisition of new customers and expansion into new markets
- Capital: Highlight sources of capital available to startups in various regions and sectors
Several partnerships are already up and running across the region and country. Startup Colorado
and Startup Iowa are among the leaders in this national effort. Startup America is focused
on bringing the private sector together to maximize the success of America’s startups – and
maximize America’s competitiveness in an increasingly global world. For more information
about Startup America you can visit www.s.co.If you are interested in participating and being among the leaders of this effort please send
an email to info@startupnm.org. We anticipate holding a statewide video conference in mid
April to sketch out the next steps in this effort. There is no cost to join and only ask for your
willingness to participate and deliver on the possibilities of success.Sincerely,
Startup New Mexico
