It’s sometimes easy, I think, to forget what an amazing place we live in. We’re so rich in history, culture and creativity that perhaps out of modesty or because we’re immersed, the assets at our fingertips don’t seem all that special – or we compare our town and our state with the handful of world-leading hotspots in this or that industry and find ourselves lacking.
While we aren’t quite Silicon Valley, it bears remembering that some of the most advanced research and thinking in the world is still happening here in our neighborhood. Today. And that most of us are a short drive from natural wonders, farms and different cultures – if they’re not in our backyard. It’s an unusual balance, and one worth appreciating more often.
As we approach 2012, we hope you’ll work with us to recognize our unique strengths and help build on them for a better future for all New Mexicans.
