This month, we feature the 2026 Great Minds in STEM Conference, and celebrate our new strategic partnership as they bring the 38th Annual Great Minds in STEM Conference to Albuquerque, New Mexico, September 17–19, 2026. The conference theme is year is “STEM 4 All” to reaffirm the mission of GMiS: “To inspire, support, and recognize students and professionals, in order to create a talent pool of STEM leaders dedicated to serving our nation.”
For the first time in the organization’s 38-year history, its flagship national conference will be hosted in New Mexico, bringing more than 2,500 students, educators, researchers, technology professionals, and industry leaders from across the country to experience everything our state’s innovation ecosystem has to offer.
Founded in 1989, Great Minds in STEM is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring, developing, and recognizing STEM talent through scholarships, workforce development, leadership development, and professional recognition. Its annual conference has become one of the nation’s premier gatherings for advancing STEM careers, connecting employers with emerging and experienced talent, and celebrating excellence in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
NMTC is honored to partner with GMiS to help showcase New Mexico’s thriving technology community. Together, we share a commitment to strengthening the STEM talent pipeline, fostering collaboration between industry and higher education, and creating opportunities that support innovation and economic growth throughout our state.
Throughout the three-day conference, attendees will experience nationally recognized keynote speakers, professional development workshops, STEM Talks, research competitions, career and graduate school fairs, networking events, and recruiting opportunities. The conference will also feature the co-located Computing Alliance of Hispanic-Serving Institutions (CAHSI) Annual Summit and the STARS Computing Core Equinox, making Albuquerque the center of the nation’s STEM community for three exciting days.
As part of this partnership, NMTC members will have opportunities to showcase their organizations, connect with students and professionals from across the country, and highlight the groundbreaking work happening throughout New Mexico’s technology ecosystem.
